It can be compacted but can also hold a lot of things. I would recommend this bag to anyone who is looking for something to throw your stuff into quickly and toss if over your shoulder and be off. Sometimes the strings get a little uneven and you remember what you paid for it, but with a little twisting they're back to normal.
